A digital record being reviewed on a tablet

A passport for the equipment

MedicalTrace is in development. It connects a device’s identity with its certificates, maintenance records, and custody history. Manufacturers, certificate issuers, suppliers, healthcare facilities, and service providers each add their own records, under their own names.

Supporting documents stay with the equipment profile. Uploading a file does not make it a verified certificate. A link to the passport does not, by itself, prove which physical device is in the room.

Equipment passport

Identity, certificates, maintenance, and custody in one profile. Each record shows who issued it.

Certificates

An approved issuer signs a scoped credential. An uploaded file is not a certificate.

Custody history

The sender starts the handover. The recipient confirms it. Custody is not ownership.

Maintenance evidence

Service stays with the organization that performed it.

Demonstrations stay on medicaltrace.net. This page explains the work. An organization starts by contacting our team. There is no signup on this site.

How a record is built

The path is straightforward: register the device, attach the documents, sign a scoped credential, record service, confirm custody, and verify the findings. MedicalTrace is not in service yet.

Selected records can be anchored so a later check can see whether the evidence still matches. Full documents stay in protected storage. Anchoring does not make a claim true. A reader can see who issued a record, whether the evidence matches, the credential status, and when that status was last read. If something is missing, the gap stays visible.

Register the device

An authorized organization identifies the device

Model documents stay with that profile

An upload alone is not a verified certificate

Sign a credential

An approved issuer signs a scoped credential

The signature result stands on its own

Credential status is reported separately

Confirm custody

The sender starts the handover

The recipient confirms it

An unconfirmed transfer stays incomplete

Verify the findings

Who issued the record, apart from the signature

Whether the evidence matches, or is unknown

Status, freshness, and any missing information

Who takes part

Manufacturers connect a device to its documents. Certificate issuers sign scoped credentials. Verification organizations review the evidence. Suppliers keep those documents connected through handovers. Healthcare facilities inspect the evidence and confirm custody. Service providers attach maintenance to the passport.

Each organization keeps its own name on its records. Carl Richardson LLC is building the platform. Other suppliers, including competitors, can take part on the same terms. Buying equipment from us is not required.

What it does not do

The equipment passport is what we are building now. Professional credentials can use the same evidence model, and they stay separate from the device record. This site does not offer that service.

No. Selected commitments support a later integrity check. They do not make an entry true, and they do not replace the organization that issued the record.

No. MedicalTrace does not score clinical safety and does not issue a verified-safe result. It shows the source, the evidence, and the status so a reader can inspect them.

No. Tracking means the recorded custody and lifecycle history. It is not GPS, live telemetry, or an inventory system.

Patient records are not part of the equipment passport, and identifiable patient information is not placed on a public blockchain. Professional credentials can use the same evidence model, and they stay separate from the device record.

No. Carl Richardson LLC starts and operates the platform. Other suppliers and facilities can take part. Buying equipment from us is not required.
